Dylan Perinoni's matter was due to be finalised in Albury Local Court this week.
But instead magistrate Rodney Brender has now deferred sentencing to November 19.
IN OTHER NEWS:
The first assault took place on May 27, when Perinoni climbed through the window at the home of a friend of the victim's about 11.30pm.
He grabbed the victim's wrist, squeezing hard enough to cause bruising.
In the second assault, four weeks later, Perinoni - a heavy user of methamphetamine - tried to choke her when she refused to resume their relationship.
