And leg-spinner Kieran Salome will again be out to weave his magic after taking a stunning 7-7 to skittle Howlong for only 51.
IN OTHER SPORT:
Salome's victims included something all leg-spinners love - bowling a batsman between his legs.
"I nutted him a bit," he said.
"Basically, I go through a slow, slow, fast sort of thing if I'm trying to work out somebody, so a couple of slower balls and then try and dart one through.
"With him, it was a bit of a looping one, just drifted in nicely and sort of yorked him and spun through his legs."
It was the best figures of the right-armer's career after finishing as the association's leading wicket-taker in 2011-12, claiming 33 wickets at 13.48, including a best of 6-47.
The 25-year-old has missed some cricket since, particularly in recent years with his university studies in eco tourism and outdoor recreation.
He will miss some play with work commitments on the road, but is expected to be available for the bulk of the season.
Like so many spinners, Salome adopts a philiosophical approach to his difficult craft.
"I've fetched a few balls from the creek," he laughed.
"I've been doing it for a fair while now, since I was 12, and you know you're going to get tonked a few times, but when you have a day like that, it makes it all worthwhile."
Battling Bethanga has won only three games in the four previous wooden spoon seasons.
And it won't be easy adding to last week's victory on the road.
Eskdale is one of three unbeaten teams, along with premiers Yackandandah and Mount Beauty.
Vanuatu captain Andrew Mansale and Jye Hodgkin posted unbeaten half-centuries in the opening round hiding of flag fancies Corowa and followed it up against grand finalists Kiewa.
Elsewhere in round three, Mt Beauty is home to Corowa, which quickly regained its touch against Dederang.
The Demons were routed for only 58.
Mt Beauty looked likely to fall against Baranduda after crumbling for just 115.
However, opening bowler Shane Manny inspired the visitors with 5-18 as the home team collapsed for 100.
Dederang hosts Kiewa, Howlong is home to Yackandandah, while Baranduda faces Barnawartha-Chiltern.
