Under the draft draw released to clubs last week, Wodonga will host North Albury, while Wangaratta will be home to Albury in one of the first blockbusters of the season.
The league also hosted two games at the corresponding time in 2017, with just the one apiece the last two seasons.
It must be stressed though it's only a draft draw with the finalised edition likely to be released in the coming weeks.
There's seven night games pencilled in for the opening seven weeks, with Lavington and Wangaratta leading the charge with three apiece, including the grand final re-match on Anzac Day night.
"We really enjoy it (night games), I find the majority of games are Saturday at two o'clock, so it's something that little bit different early in the year," Lavington premiership captain Luke Garland said.
"It just creates a really good atmosphere and I know the club really benefits from having night games as well."
Both teams played two night games apiece last season.
"I still think there's a lot of water to go under the bridge with the draw, but we're happy to play night footy, we'll play whenever and whoever if there's scheduled night games," Wangaratta coach Luke Morgan said.
At this stage, the planned night games are Albury-Wodonga Raiders (season opener), Lavington-Wodonga (round one), Wodonga-North Albury and Wangaratta-Albury (Good Friday, R2), Lavington-North Albury (R3), Wangaratta-Lavington (R4) and Myrtleford-Wangaratta (R6).
Six clubs can now play night football, with the only other one in Wangaratta Rovers not scheduled to play under lights.

Meanwhile, there's only four Sunday games planned, one down on last season.
Myrtleford will host Rovers on Easter Sunday, while Yarrawonga will play its annual game at Mulwala against Raiders at the same time.
The Wangaratta derbies round out the Sunday matches.
"It's just not really the traditional country footy setup, country footy is a Saturday," Garland said.
"I think Sunday's that family rest day and that's where it loses its appeal a little bit from a following point of view.
"As a player, and especially now as an older player, you lose a day for the recovery for the next week so I've never been a massive fan of the Sunday game."
Going on last season's form and early recruits, Easter's round two looks a cracker, headlined by the Good Friday clash under lights.
