John McVean and Mark Neil blitzed the final rubber to see the former home by eight games.
Anthony Whitehead and Steve O'Connell also contributed, while Jack Penny was solid all day for Gold.
An entertaining encounter between Sacred Heart Gold and Forrest Hill Wombats saw Brendan Hoffman perform strongly in Gold's 5-3 triumph.
Haydon McIntosh starred in Forrest Hill Galah's account of Wodonga Raiders, while Rory Carlyle was a two-set winner for his team.
Albury Blue had the first four sets quickly, before a mini fightback from Thurgoona Sharks.

In section one men, a surprise result saw Forrest Hill Eagles complete a competitive 5-1 salute over ladder leaders SPD Hilfiger.
Nick Vicary, Lachlan Graetz and Mick Reid played well when it mattered most, with Lewis Ahern, Zac Burhop and Adib Golshan contributing for SPD.
Wangaratta had the better of the close sets in its account of Wodonga, with Daniel Smith unbeaten.
Wodonga Larrikins and Forrest Hill proved too strong for their opposition in the ladies.
Brendan Tomlinson, Ryan Haidlinger, Chris Bale and John Trethewie were dialled in early, seeing Thurgoona Wolves finish ahead 4-2 over Forrest Hill Blues in section three action.
Glenly was led by an unbeaten Daryl Ebery in its defeat of SPD Gold in another excellent battle.
Wodonga Eagles secured the points after four rubbers against Thurgoona Bears.
Shaun Paull and Howard Shearer were consistent all day, with support from James Zucker and Paul Pocock.
Wodonga Knights snared the opening set before Albury Gold fired up, running away with the win.
Peter McMahon, Garry Hughes, Rob Gilchrist and Neil Mitchell combined well.
The remaining match saw Forrest Hill Tigers defeat Wodonga Pirates.
Section four saw SPD Yellow battle its way to a 4-2 triumph over Thurgoona Lions.
Ryley Miller, Ryan Johnston and Scott Soulsby were in top form for Yellow.
Wodonga Bears were too strong for Albury-Scots Blue, while SPD Purple, Wodonga Lions and SPD Gold were untroubled in their respective victories.
The pick of section five saw Albury-Scots Cats salute over Albury-Scots Eagles.
Ben Pendlebury, Michael Nakagaura and Ted Williams all contributed.
Forrest Hill Swans, Forrest Hill Lions and SPD Orange had straightforward wins.
