If a third clearance is rejected by Yackandandah, Corowa-Rutherglen can elect to have the case heard by the tribunal.
Castles said he had contacted Yackandandah officials several times since his second clearance was rejected.
"It looks like nothing is going to happen until early January," Castles said.
"I don't want to lodge the third clearance until we clear a few things up.
"Hopefully we can sort something out and we don't end up at the tribunal."
Castles said he had trained with Corowa-Rutherglen several times.
