Excell Gray Bruni submitted a more expensive tender than the only other company in the mix, Mitchell Constructions, but could complete the job two months earlier.
He said his concerns raised in recent days had been addressed.
"The lowest bid was given the opportunity to address the council's areas of concern.
"They have indicated they wanted to stick with their timeframes and made some assurances to council about the ability to do the job.
"Under those circumstances I'm happy with the resolution."

The revised contract amount of $4,242,640 is $113,000 cheaper than the original Excell Gray Bruni bid and will be completed within a 19 week timeframe.
Cr Cameron, who moved the alternative motion to reject the Mitchell Constructions bid, said he was satisfied with the final outcome.
"The extra disruption caused to the traders by pursuing other options would have been unacceptable," he said.
"This way we get certainty, we get a quicker completion, which is vital to the interests of the Wagga Road traders.
"As things have progressed we've also achieved a significant saving on the original quote."
The scope of works, which will start early in the new year, includes about 1km of streetscape upgrade between Kaylock Road and Barlow Street.
Other works include a central median strip with newly planted trees, improved crossing points, the replacement of existing footpaths and kerbing.
The project, which had an estimated budget of $4.34 million, is being co-funded by council and the NSW Government.
"The upgrades are an important step in supporting Lavington business by bringing customers back to the area," member for Albury Justin Clancy said.
