Ovens Valley MP Tim McCurdy is pushing for the Victorian government to fund an upgrade of the narrow road, after receiving complaints during a recent visit to the King Valley, and has contacted Victorian Roads Minister Jaala Pulford.
He said the increase in cyclists and tourists to King Valley wineries and other destinations had increased greatly over the last five to 10 years.

"While a growth in tourism to the region is welcomed, roads have to be upgraded to a safe level to accommodate this increase," he said.
"This road has next to no shoulders.
"Vehicles have to edge off the side of the road for oncoming traffic that frequently includes caravans, trucks and buses."
