Melbourne's mesmerising contemporary world music band The Royal High Jinx will perform at Albury Entertainment Centre in February.
Having burst onto Australian festival stages with originality, virtuosity and theatricality, The Royal High Jinx is a high-energy act sure to appeal to a wide-ranging audience.
The Royal High Jinx' songs and tunes are inspired by European traditions, peppered with Gypsy jazz, Latin, Balkan and swing grooves with a pinch of folk.
Their Border performance will be part of Albury Entertainment Centre's Cafe Culture Series in 2020.
The series has an emphasis on praising originality, honouring traditions and valuing inventiveness.
Combining dapper suits and burlesque exuberance, The Royal High Jinx combines song, dance and entertainment in one colourful big night out.
The audience will enjoy a smorgasbord of romantic continental classics and frantic Gypsy musical treats in the performance.
Experience a stage of colour with Sarah (former violinist of The Woohoo Revue/Bushwackers), Silas (Women In Docs/The Bushwackers), Jen (The Great Chefs Of Europe) and Terry (The Fratellini Bros).
These musicians will seduce your soul with their original songs and boisterous instrumentals on violin, guitar, mandolin, drums, bass and keys.
Guaranteed to get your heart grooving and your toes tapping.
The acts in the Cafe Culture Series are intended to be interesting, impressive, inspiring, colourful and entertaining.
Other acts in the series will be Canyon Callers (May 24), Lady Ha Ha! (August 30) and La Busca Tango (November 8).
Melbourne's new Western Swing super group, Canyon Callers, stars Ben Franz, Jacob McGuffie and Brooke Russell.
They play the hits of Western Swing from the likes of Bob Wills and His Texas Playboys, Faron Young and Asleep At The Wheel.
La Busca is the passionate sound of a mainly female tango ensemble, backing the charming and captivating Argentinean singer and tango dancer, Juan Veron, who hails from the thriving milonga scene of Buenos Aires.
La Busca released their debut album in 2018 and toured in 2018 to Cygnet Folk Festival, Mona, Tamar Valley Folk festival, Port Fairy Folk Festival and the National Folk Festival.
