League champions and grand final winners Calder United will bring their senior and under-19 squads to Albury on February 1 and 2.

Calder came up to the Border to take on an AWFA women's representative side at the end of 2018 and hope to do something similar before the 2020 season.

AWFA life member Carlo Villani also hopes to incorporate the visit with his charity, Butterfly Football Fund, to support mental health across the region.

"We want to get the number one girls around AWFA because last time we didn't have Wangaratta," he said.

"I think we've got 16 girls who can give them a good run for their money.

"We need to get permission from the association to play at Jelbart Park and organise referees.

"We want to get everyone involved and raise some money for mental health."

Calder coach Mark Torcaso hopes the club can continue to enhance the game in regional areas.

"Obviously the weather conditions are a bit more extreme up there then they are in here (in Melbourne), so we want to get somewhere to do a pre-season trip, a bit of training and have a hit-out obviously," he said.

"We needed the two games (for each team), one on the Saturday night and maybe one on Sunday morning, so it will be four games all up."

Former Murray United junior Natalie Grima will travel up with the Calder squad that weekend, along with AWFA exports Mackensey and Montanna Mathews, who featured in the club's successful under-19s outfit last season.

Calder cleaned up in 2019, winning both the under-19 and senior women's league and cup titles.

The seniors finished eight points clear in the league with a 24-0-3 record from Bulleen and beat their nearest rivals 1-0 in the grand final.

Calder's under-19s side also did the double, ending up 11 points clear of NTC under-17 in the league race with a 22-4-1 record, before drawing 1-1 with Alamein in the grand final and capturing the title 3-1 on penalties.
