With thick smoke blanketing the North East region due to fires throughout the Upper Murray, organisers were hopeful conditions would improve overnight to allow the Day on the Green performance to go ahead.
"We are continually monitoring the environmental situation and weather conditions in Wahgunyah and liaising with emergency services and regulatory authorities with regard to the Cold Chisel show at All Saints Estate Wine," national publicity manager Linda Freedman said.
"Should the conditions on site not improve overnight tonight, the show will be cancelled, however we won't be able to confirm this until tomorrow.

"We will endeavour to give as much notice as possible should the show not be taking place. Please keep an eye on our social channels and we will update as soon as we can.
She said it wasn't possible for the performance to be moved to tomorrow with shows in the Yarra Valley and Geelong slated for Friday and Saturday.
"At this stage Friday's show at Rochford Wines, Yarra Valley and Saturday's show at Mt Duneed Estate, Geelong will go ahead as planned," Freedman said.
"We appreciate everyone's patience and understanding."
