The drummer and singer in Spiderbait said his then high school peer and later fellow band member Janet English introduced him to the English Fab Four.

"Janet got me into The Beatles," he said.

"She said I needed to hear their music; she'd put Abbey Road on one side of the tape and Sergeant Peppers on the other side.

"Funny thing is I didn't know until years later she'd left some key songs off the tape because she didn't think I'd like them!"

Born-and-bred at Finley, Mark Maher (stage name Kram) said his school teacher had also shared The Beatles albums with him as well as Sex Pistols.

"I was listening to Sex Pistols and The Beatles at the same time," Kram said.

"That's a window right there into the background of Spiderbait!"

Together with Kram's cousin Damian Whitty, Kram and English formed a band in 1989, which was later renamed Spiderbait.

In 2004 the group's cover version of the 1930s Lead Belly song Black Betty reached number one on the ARIA Singles Chart.

Since then, the trio have focused on solo and personal projects.

Kram joined ARC, which was made up of Mark Wilson (bassist, pianist and backing vocalist for Jet); Darren Middleton (guitarist and songwriter for Powderfinger); and Davey Lane (guitarist for You Am I and The Pictures).

Now one of the country's most celebrated super groups, it has gained 33 ARIA Awards and 16 Top Ten ARIA albums.

Last year ARC decided to pay homage to the 50^th anniversary of Abbey Road - The Beatles' swansong and their crowning achievement as a recording group.

After a successful national tour, Abbey Road Live is back on the road with a regional tour - including Albury.

A huge Ringo Starr fan, Kram said the band's first show in August was "like a spiritual moment".

"The show has a sense of the theatrical about it," he said.

"I'm really looking forward to bringing it to Albury; I've got a sister in Corowa and an aunt in Wodonga. I really want to do a shoutout from Spiderbait to the people of Tallangatta and Corryong too; I've taken that path to Khancoban many times."

Joining ARC will be Linda Bull (The Black Sorrows, Vika and Linda Bull), Ash Naylor (Paul Kelly, Even and Rockwiz) and James Fleming (Eagle and the Worm).
