He has been sidelined since early November with the injury after being dislodged behind the barriers at Tatura trials.
The talented hoop was eyeing a return at Albury next Tuesday and rode trackwork for the first time since the injury last Friday and Saturday.
Souquet said his wrist had "blown up" after trackwork and he was booked to see his specialist on Wednesday.
"I thought I would be right to ride at Albury on Tuesday but that looks doubtful now," Souquet said.
"My wrist has blown up again and I have to see the specialist again.
"I don't think it's anything too serious but I'll be guided by the specialist."
Souquet said he was itching to get back into the saddle after last riding at Queanbeyan on November 11.
"I didn't mind having a few weeks off to freshen-up mentally and physically but I'm over sitting at home now," he said.
"But I know I have to be patient and let the fracture fully heal because there can be long-term complications further down the track if I don't.
"So its been a bit of a drawn out process."

Despite not riding for more than 10 weeks, Souquet said he has been able to keep his weight in check.
"The body is feeling good, it's just the wrist that is causing me dramas," he said.
"I've still been doing plenty of work on my fitness and weigh around 60kg at the moment.
"That's where I expected to be after not riding for so long.
"I rarely ride anything under 57kg these days."
Souquet is confident he will be back well before the Country Championships at Albury on February 22.
He remained hopeful of securing a mount in the $150,000 feature.
