Police are calling for witnesses to a hit and run involving a bus in Wodonga on Wednesday morning.

Wodonga police Leading Senior Constable Neil Hobbs said a white Toyota sedan left the scene of the accident on Melrose Drive around 8.45am.
"A Dysons bus was travelling north in the right hand lane on Melrose Drive," he said.
"As it passed McFarland Road a white coloured late model Toyota sedan turned right from McFarland Road straight into the side of the bus," he said.
"The vehicle pretty much bounced off the right hand rear wheel of the bus.
"It severely damaged the panels at the right hand wheel.
"The bus driver hardly felt the car hit the bus but saw a large plume of smoke and stopped to check the damage.

Leading Senior Constable Hobbs said police believe they are looking for a female driver.
"The vehicle was last seen turning left into Birallee shopping centre near the BP service station," he said.
"Thankfully no passengers on the bus were injured in the accident.
"But the car would have substantial damage.
"Anyone with information or who witnessed the hit and run can contact myself at the Wodonga police station.
"The bus driver didn't get a number plate so anyone with information is urged to come forward.
"Police also urge the driver to come forward."
