One of the region's most talented young players is facing a season on the sidelines in his draft year.
Having been touted as one of the leading contenders for the number one draft pick, Elijah Hollands injured his knee at training on Tuesday night.
A tear to his anterior cruciate ligament has not been confirmed, but the 18-year-old is bracing for the worst on the eve of the season.

The Wodonga export was set to spend the majority of this season with the Murray Bushrangers under-18s, having finished his schooling at Caulfield Grammar last year, where he played the majority of his games in 2019.
He is also one of Vic Country's most accomplished draft hopefuls, having featured in the under-18 national carnival last season as a bottom-ager.
