Wodonga and North Albury were set to meet at East Albury's Alexandra Park on Saturday.
"At the end of the day, we've just got to play by the rules," CAW vice-chairman Heath Naughton said.
Wodonga has been crowned premiers as it was the highest ranked team, finishing minor premiers, while North was fifth after the regular season.

Wodonga also claimed the 2013-14 title after day two was washed out against St Patrick's.

And North Albury was again on the receiving end in 2017-18 when rain intervened against Lavington.
CAW's Hall of Fame and presentation, which was set down for tonight, has also been cancelled with the Hall of Fame potentially set to launch next season.
