Market committee member Trevor Pearce, of Rotary Club of Belvoir-Wodonga, said the market would halt until the public health order related to the COVID-19 pandemic was revoked on June 14.
"We understand that this will cause financial hardship to a number of stallholders, and disappointment to the typically 1200 members of the community who visit us every week," he said.
"However, we must comply with the order of the government.
"Rotary has a duty of care, to not just the public, but stallholders and Rotarians, of which many are in the high-risk demographic of this virus."

Many Border cafes are now serving coffee in takeaway cups only (no BYO cups) and favouring takeaway over dining-in options.
BBB owner Harry Valentine Perry said people dining in at their five stores would be served food in takeaway packaging.
"People can still dine in but we'd encourage them to put their packaging in the bin afterwards," he said.
"We understand it's not environmentally-wise, but the health concerns are more important in the short term.
"We'd prefer payment by card instead of cash."
