Ex-Ireland under 19 international Aaron Gillespie is stuck in Kyabram due to the coronavirus outbreak after his third Australian stint, following time with CAW clubs Belvoir (2016-17) and Albury (2018-19).
"Yeah, it's been quite frustrating because we had no real information from the airlines, I couldn't contact them for over a week," he said.
Gillespie, who turned 23 last month, was scheduled to fly out on March 30, but was advised by his travel agent that his best chance was to drive to Melbourne Airport well before that date.
He was put on a standby list, queuing for three hours, and was told about a possible flight via Hong Kong, but that it would be risky as he could get stuck there and not be eligible for a refund.
