It's not the season Christy McCormick had envisioned when he joined the Albury-Wodonga Steamers, but the Abu Dhabi born recruit is still enjoying his time on the Border.

McCormick is currently living with Steamers' English imports Connor Bradley and Peter Willoughby, with all three prepared for their first season with the club.
But with the Southern Inland Rugby Union competition currently on hold due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the trio's debut is on hold.
"I think it was going to be an exciting season for the Steamers, but now we'll just have to wait and see," McCormick said.

"It's disappointing because we had a few trial games leading up to the season before it was suspended.
"It looked like everyone was really playing as a team and gelling well."
McCormick said being joined on the Border by his brother, as well as still being able to work each day, was helping make the tough time easier.
"It hasn't been too bad because we're able to work and we all get along with each other," McCormick said.
"We'll have to just wait and see where the season goes."
