Murray River Police District investigators received information about an illegal crop and visited the property about 3.45pm on Monday, where they found between 2.5 to three tonnes of tobacco leaf drying.
The district commander, Superintendent Paul Smith, said the haul was one of the largest seen in this area.
"The set-up that was there, both drying and packing was quite elaborate," he said in Albury on Wednesday.
"Our officers held that property overnight and yesterday an operation was under way where that property was fully searched, the tobacco was weighed and sampled and destroyed with the assistance and under the guidance of the Australian Tax Office.
"There's over a half of million dollars worth of tobacco seized here that could be flooded into the markets and of course these people are cheating the tax system."
A crime scene warrant was executed shortly after 10am Tuesday, with police seizing three motor vehicles, electronic devices and documentation from the property.
No arrests have been made at this stage, with police continuing to speak to people found on the property.
