Murrumbidgee Local Health District reported 4480 people had been tested as of 8am on Tuesday, up from 4377 the previous day.
Of the 45 COVID-19 cases in the region, 39 have recovered and no one remains in hospital.
Victorian figures on Tuesday revealed no new positive tests in the North East, although the state overall had 17 more cases.
Albury Wodonga Health confirmed no addition to its 10 previous positive results, with 1807 patients tested, 69 more than the previous day, and 2887 screening calls conducted, up by 109.
On World Hand Hygiene Day, Tuesday, May 5, Murrumbidgee Local Health District thanked the community for practising good hand hygiene and helping to stop the spread of infections.

"In a hospital environment, hand hygiene is the single most effective way to reduce the risk of healthcare associated infections," Murrumbidgee Local Health District said.
"Community members are playing a critical role in fighting COVID-19 by adopting frequent hand washing throughout the day.
"There are key times when we should be washing our hands to prevent the spread of germs, such as before eating and after coughing or sneezing."
