Base a better option
I am well and truly 'house crazy' after being locked up by COVID-19 and am looking forward to obtaining some normality at the end of the month, when rugby league returns to my TV screen. Although, not a great fan of the game, it will be a relief to watch 13 boffins bashing the living daylights out of 13 other boffins.

I am not going to debate the pros and cons of the selection, but rather suggest an alternative base just over 100 kilometres further into the heartland of rugby league.
South of Wagga is the Kapooka Army Base, which I believe would have the equal if not better training facilities than Greenfield Park. General population access to the base is restricted and the team would be able to reside on the base, and accordingly have their movements more closely monitored.
I am sure that if the Storm management contacted a top rugby league boffin (Prime Minister Scott Morrison), they would have approval in a flash.

Entitled to answers
In a situation that reeked of compromised decision-making some Albury City councillors have reminded us why they were elected.
After heroic political hand-balling between the Albury City Council, the Albury City CEO and the state government, some councillors called an extraordinary meeting so that they could represent the local community.

Coal industry's thirst
Did you know that the coal industry consumes the same amount of water as all of Sydney, or all of Queensland? And then, having used that huge amount of precious water, it then releases that water in a contaminated state, leaving toxic ash dams and leeching poisonous water into creeks and rivers.
Did you also know that Adani has been granted the right to take virtually unlimited water from the Great Artesian Basin for 60 years?

A double standard
I can't go for a leisurely drive to Beechworth or Bright from Albury. I can't gather with a group of mates for a workout at the local park or gym. I can't go to a restaurant for a meal with friends. I understand why.
But how on Earth is it OK for the Melbourne Storm to travel, stay and train as a group in Albury.
