With the season involving numerous trips to Canberra for the squad to compete in the Capital League competition, coach Tony Donnolley said the Spitfires could be forced to travel in two 12-seater buses to be able to maintain social distance.
Hockey Albury-Wodonga sport operations manager Cayte Campbell added there would be further risks if players had to carpool after playing a tough game.

"Goulburn might be okay because it's only an hour to Canberra if you go up two people to a car, but you can't do that from Albury," Campbell said.
"It would be so dangerous having eight people driving home because they're all exhausted. They've just played a really hard game of hockey and played not having had much of a pre-season.
"We have to get that cleared from NSW and ACT."
As of yesterday, ACT had recorded just 107 positive COVID-19 cases.
