Football NSW and Football Victoria guidelines are set to be released on Friday, with the AWFA executive to forward them on to clubs and meet next Tuesday night for further discussion.
League officials and club representatives met on Wednesday night, but all agreed it was impossible to make any further decisions without necessary guidelines from the code's governing bodies.

"There was a lot of talk about different strategies and stuff like that, but at the end of the day there's nothing we can do until such time we've got the guidelines and we know exactly what we have to do," AWFA president Mark Leman said.
"We can release that to all the parents, players and the community so they know we're compliant and doing what we're told to do.
"It's getting closer to making some sort of decision about a return to football, so we're not far away."
One round of the AWFA season was played before Football Federation Australia postponed all football activity until at least May 31.
