Council meetings have been held remotely since April 27 with councillors logging in for forums from their homes and workplaces.
At a public briefing on Monday night, councillors were asked if they wanted to return to convening in the chamber and all agreed except Darren Cameron.
However, Cr Cameron told The Border Mail on Friday that he would now be comfortable with meeting face-to-face again, given restrictions lifting in other areas.
The council will still stage its monthly meeting this coming Monday night remotely, but from June it is anticipated the traditional set-up will return.
