The league announced on Wednesday night it will resume on the second Sunday in July following the NSW government's decision to allow all senior community sport to resume from July 1.
If Victoria's easing of restrictions don't align with NSW and certain clubs can't host matches, AWFA president Mark Leman said all games can initially be played in Albury as the competition is affiliated with Football NSW.
"Victoria will announce its next steps on June 22 and we're hoping they will follow the same guidelines for a July 1 restart. We know that Football Victoria will be pushing hard for it," Leman said.
"The draw will be subject to where Victoria is at that time. If Victoria is still not allowed to play competitive football, we'll work with them to have all games played in NSW.
"That's just a wait and see at this point in time."

Clubs can resume full training from July 1, giving them time to run multiple sessions before their opening matches.
With the season postponed after just one match, a further 10 rounds will be played to ensure clubs play each other once.
A shortened finals series will run for two weeks for the top four teams at the end of the league season.
The cup final is scheduled for Sunday, September 27, to ensure there is no clash with summer sport.
As for crowds, Leman said the association is awaiting guidelines from both states on what they can work with.
"We'll certainly be working closely with all of the public health rules," he said.
"Once we've got that information, we'll have another meeting to discuss how that might work.
"It's very positive and it's good for the community to get back to some normality around our sport."
Cobram coach Bill Puckett applauded the association on the way it has navigated this uncertain period.
"I think it's been handled excellently by the league from day one," he added.
"From the first week of not being able to play, their focal point has been to get back, but get back safely and in the right manner to get the best competition for everyone."
With Wodonga Heart and Twin City both withdrawing from the senior men's competition, two bye rounds will be included in the new draw to be released mid next week.
