The Walbundrie Show will not go on after organisers revealed the recent spike in Victorian COVID-19 infections made it "virtually impossible" to plan a safe and successful show.

The event was due to take place on October 5, and is the latest in a long line of agricultural shows to call off its annual event.

President Rick Clancy said the committee felt it would be hard to implement rules and regulations effectively.
He said the decision was made with deep regret and thanked the show's sponsors and volunteers.
"While this decision has been very difficult, we have considered all avenues to ensure the health, well-being and safety of our exhibitors, visitors, volunteers and our local and wider community," he said.
Myrtleford Show, Wangaratta Show and Rutherglen Show have all also cancelled their 2020 shows.
