Four of the six teams in this year's competition are based in Victoria (Wodonga Storm, Wodonga Wombats, Wangaratta Knights and Benalla Wolfpack), while CSU Mud Dogs and Corowa Cougars are in NSW.
Defending premiers Tumbarumba and Murray River Warriors are not fielding sides.

A 10-week home and away season has been planned, with finals to be played across a further two weekends, but all will depend on whether restrictions will be eased in regional areas.
The top-four after 10 rounds progress to the semi-finals on October 11, with top spot taking on fourth and second meeting third for the right to progress to the grand final at Greenfield Park on October 18.
Melbourne will enter a six-week lockdown period from Thursday.
