The Albury Wodonga Football Association club had its application unanimously rejected by the FWW board on Monday night due to COVID-19 fears, with the club informed Tuesday morning.
"Reluctantly we've made the decision and it was a very tough one, basically we're putting public health ahead of sport," FWW president Tony Dobbin said.

AWFA made the historic decision last month to cancel its season over COVID.
"We understand and didn't want to be the cause of any angst and we'd hate for something to happen and we be the cause of it, so we're very appreciative to Wagga for at least giving us the opportunity," senior coach Ricky Piltz said.
"We've been training since the end of November for a season that never came, so there's obviously a lot of disappointment."
