It is hoped the Nationals leader will have good news in relation to the easing of restrictions following a NSW Cabinet meeting on Monday.
Mr Barilaro will be joined on the border by Victorian Nationals leader Peter Walsh, whose seat of Murray Plains extends along the state frontier from Swan Hill to Echuca.
Mr Walsh has echoed the views of thousands of border residents in calling on NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian to change rules.
"As a border community resident, I understand all too well the enormous impact these closures are having on our daily lives," Mr Walsh said.
IN OTHER NEWS:
"The NSW Premier has the power to fix it.
"The closure has locked our hard-working farmers from accessing their properties, hamstrung the movement of the food supply chain and blocked our kids from getting to school.
"Border communities either side of the river rely on freedom of movement to provide employment opportunities, education, health care and access to other essential goods and services.
"We can't afford any more band aid fixes and we can't afford to wait weeks for Sydney-based bureaucrats to decide our future.
"The NSW Government must urgently find a solution to these border closures that allows farmers to get over the river to tend to livestock and crops and makes it possible for border families and businesses to go about daily life."
Mr Walsh and Mr Barilaro will meet at the Wodonga Place checkpoint in Albury to discuss the issues and changes.
"Expanding the postcodes in the defined 'border region' and making sure the special permits allow us to go about daily life are critical measures that must be considered to take the pressure off of families and businesses," Mr Walsh said.
