While any limit will still inevitably inconvenience some Border and North East residents or businesses, the increase will make life easier for many in our region.
The change marks a return to the conditions experienced on July 8 when the NSW-Victoria border first closed.
Everything is relative - way back then, such a move seemed unthinkable and fraught with hardship, but people adjusted quickly.

In the North East, single cases in Wodonga and Indigo were listed by the Department of Health and Human Services without context or explanation, and no department confirmation whether the people involved were here or isolating elsewhere.
While we all take comfort in the containment of Sydney clusters, so far, we did notice that city's workers, students and families could go about their daily life, more or less, when many in our twin cities could not.
The government's decision on Tuesday reflected this area's lack of COVID-19 cases.
"It is the Premier's wishes that we now start looking after this community," Mr Barilaro said.
Perhaps it was just an unfortunate choice of words - "now"?
But let's put that to one side and be thankful the government has listened to feedback from business, health services, schools and MPs.
And it remains up to us to still do the right thing, keep the virus at bay and justify this show of faith.
