The event, originally planned for December 5, this year, was to be the first of its kind in Australia.
Blending traditional gravel grinding with MTB enduro racing and a huge post-race festival, Grinduro has taken the cycling world by storm with its format.
Having postponed ticket sales amid the coronavirus crisis, Falls Creek Resort Management yesterday decided to push back the event to December 4, 2021.
IN OTHER NEWS:
Falls Creek event supervisor Nick Buckley said community safety was paramount.
"Knowing we have to keep people safe first and foremost, it's clear to everyone that unfortunately, now is not the time to host this amazing event," he said.
"The spirit of Grinduro is community, riding, eating and partying together. Hosting anything less than this is not an option. We prefer to offer this unforgettable experience in 2021 in the way that it should be enjoyed."
Falls Creek Alpine Resort is temporarily closed under the regional Victoria stage three restrictions.
"Falls Creek and the local businesses within are ready to welcome visitors back to the High Country when the Chief Health Officer deems it appropriate," Mr Buckley said.
