Bowden Constructions has won a Berrigan Shire tender to erect the two-storey structure, partly funded by the NSW government.
It will no longer contain Tocumwal's visitor centre, after its operators decided to permanently relocate.
However, the shire did decide last week to continue supporting the tourist information centre by providing a $200 a week rental subsidy for its new location.

Council general manager Rowan Perkins said an alternative tenant to the visitor centre would now be sought for the riverside building which is expected to house eateries of some sort.
The council opted to choose a building for the foreshore with a timber verandah after it attracted 67 per cent support in a community poll involving four choices.
The online vote saw the proposal, a joint venture between Bowden Constructions and Melbourne architect Marie LeTouze, attract 273 out of 407 votes with the next nearest contender on 62.
Builder Darrell Bowden, who co-owners the winning firm with wife Melanie, said all of his ten staff would be employed on the project and up to 30 subcontractors would be needed.
Bowden Constructions has previously erected a pavilion at Berrigan Sports Ground and a toilet block at Barooga for the council.
