Murray will now be hoping for surgery today in Wagga.
His hopes of a dream grand final for his junior club Ganmain Grong Grong Matong were shattered after toppling Mangoplah-Cookardinia United-Eastlakes by 30 points.
The ease of the win and the lateness of the incident meant many at the ground didn't realise the extent of the injury to Murray.
"I went up for a mark and came down and was winded," he said on Sunday night.
"Once I got over being winded, I felt my (left) shoulder and you could see it sticking out."
