THE Murrumbidgee region has recorded a new coronavirus case in the last 24 hours after a Carrathool resident isolating in Sydney tested positive.
Murrumbidgee Local Health District officials believe the case is linked to the person having close contact with a case at a Sydney boarding school.
The new case brings the region's total to 56, with an additional 451 tests conducted over the past 24 hours.
This brings the testing total to 56,019.
A statement from the MLHD said there are currently seven active cases with residential postcodes in the Murrumbidgee.
