White Balloon Day, held annually since 1997 by Australian child protection group Bravehearts, will be marked by Albury Council and police on Friday, September 11.
All proceeds from merchandise sales, including pens, badges and wristbands, will go to Bravehearts.
Youth mayor Eli Davern, 16, and deputy youth mayor Jack Kelso, 15, said child exploitation could be an uncomfortable topic, but shouldn't be ignored.
"White Balloon Day's an excellent opportunity for the community to start that conversation," Eli said.
"To educate, but also provide support to young people who are victims."
"It's highlighting to the community that sexual abuse of children isn't OK," Jack added.
Bravehearts does not encourage any release of balloons on White Balloon Day, recognising their negative impact on the environment.
The doves will be released about 12.20pm.
