One of Wangaratta's most talented youngsters of recent years says new coach Dean Stone's strength was making players believe in their ability.
Daniel Sharrock played under Stone in the club's 2017 flag.
"He just reassures the potential that everyone can reach and the belief that he provides for everyone," Sharrock said.
"At the start of the year in 2017, he said to the young players, 'you've just got to believe', and I think that just progressed and everyone believed in what he was talking about and he had the respect of the players, that was his biggest thing, his communication and belief in the group."

Stone's ability to steal the flag from the near-unbeatable Albury in 2017 will never be forgotten, not just at club level but also in the league.
Stone coached the club in 44 games during his previous two-year stint, winning 33 games for an outstanding success rate of 75 percent.
