A former Wodonga man who had long held plans of becoming a police officer is instead in jail for child pornography and grooming offences, and will be a registered sex offender for life.
Damir Mrse, 23, was recently handed a nine-month prison term, followed by 15 months recognisance, after being caught with more than 1000 child abuse images and videos.

The County Court heard the two online chats took place on the social media platform last November, with Judge Gerard Mullaly labelling them "crass and disturbing" conversations.
Mrse lied on a statutory declaration to join the police force 22 days later by failing to give details of his Kik account.
The judge said he had "no other option" other than jailing Mrse for his offending, given how serious it was.
