There will be 42 places available to study at Charles Sturt University in the first program of its kind funded by Albury council.
Local students will be offered the scholarships to complete online study of two micro-subjects of their choice from the uni's Graduate Certificate in Community Leadership and Resilience.

Mayor Kevin Mack said council was "delighted" to partner with Charles Sturt as part of an ongoing Memorandum of Understanding with the university and TAFE NSW.
"Expanding the knowledge and skills base of our community is a fundamental plank of our combined mission to enhance our economy and liveability," he said.
To be eligible for the community scholarships, applicants must reside in the Albury Local Government Area and be able to dedicate time to university study.
