Emergency services were called to the Chiltern-Mount Pilot park on Saturday afternoon.
A 40-year-old Barnawartha man lost control of his motorbike about 10.30am while riding with a group of friends.
The man hit a tree or stump and was taken to Albury Base Hospital.
He later died of his injuries.
Sergeant Cameron Roberts said it was a sad result.
"He was conveyed to Albury hospital and unfortunately he didn't survive," he said.
"It doesn't take much to go wrong and lose control in these environments.
"An outcome like this is obviously very sad."
The crash is being investigated with a report to be made to the coroner.
