An Albury seamstress is determined to ensure all border children have something special this Christmas, embarking on the ambition goal to sew 400 stockings for families in need.

Krystal Kaye is hosting a sewing bee, sausage sizzle and carnival this Saturday at the Thurgoona Community Centre to help finish the stocking and raise money to fill them with lollies.
Last year, Miss Kaye put together 100 stocking which were donated to charity, but with the COVID hardships of 2020 decided to quadruple that goal this Christmas.

"I've always had a bit of a heart for children who are disadvantaged and children who have gone through hardship," she said.
"I want them to feel the community is behind them, a lot of children going through hardship feel alone and don't have strong family supports so for them to know the community is behind them spreads joy.
"I know a lot of families are struggling this year because of COVID so I want to help those families."
Miss Kaye will donate the stockings to various non-for-profits in the region including Wodonga Anglicare, St Stephens Uniting Church and Mission Australia.
Saturday's event will feature a sausage sizzle, entertainment for children including carnival games, raffles and a sewing bee.
The event runs from 10am to 3pm.
