Kylan John Jones faces court over Melrose Primary School theft

Kylan John Jones, 18, appeared via videolink in Wodonga Magistrates Court on Thursday charged with the alleged November 18 burglary and theft from Melrose Primary School along with a string of driving offences and resisting arrest.

The court heard Jones has been in mandatory 24-hour isolation while in custody since his arrest on Monday.

Jones, along with a 15-year-old Wodonga boy, was arrested over the burglary of eight classroom TVs.

A third man is still wanted over the offence. He was waiting in a getaway car on the nearby oval.

The court heard Jones also faced charges for multiple driving while disqualified offences, including a time when he sung "f### the police" while police were trying to arrest him in Wodonga.

After Jones was observed by police getting a car sideways on May 21 by deliberately applying the handbrake, he was then seen loitering around an impounded car in Wodonga.

Police prosecutor Leading Senior Constable Geoff Nicholls said police suspected the accused may return to the car which was parked outside a business. "Shortly after at 6.30pm the accused started and vehicle and drove off with a passenger," he told the court.

"Police pulled up behind the car when the accused instantly became abusive and said the car was stolen and he needed to sleep in it."

Jones allegedly then wound up the windows, locked the doors and turned the music up before filming the officers and singing "f### the police".

Police were forced to break a window and forcibly remove Jones from the car.

The matter was adjourned until December 14 so Jones could be assessed for a community corrections order.
