Albury Tennis Association's summer pennant season was further curtailed on the weekend with play abandoned before a ball was served due to the heat.

This Saturday sees top-placed Uiver Park clash with St Patrick's/Diggerville in section one men.
Clubmates Wangaratta Crushers and Thunder do battle, while Forrest Hill Cats and Eagles square off.
In the ladies, Forrest Hill takes on SPD Red, Wodonga Aces play Diamonds, with Wodonga Larrikins to host Thurgoona.
Section two men pits the top two sides Forrest Hill Galahs and Wodonga Bushrangers in a battle for first spot outright, with Sacred Heart to tackle SPD Black and Thurgoona Sharks to face Albury Gold.
Forrest Hill Tigers will look to extend their lead in the section three standings when they take on SPD White.
Elsewhere, Wodonga Pirates, Wodonga Knights and Wodonga Eagles host Glenly Gold, Thurgoona Bears and Albury Foxes, respectively, with Forrest Hill Blues up against SPD Green.

Women's pennant continued at the Albury grasscourts on Tuesday with section one leaders Bulle (4-35) too good for Peacock (2-21).
Spencer (4-33) did enough to get past Landy (2-24), while Sands (4-34) got the better of Wurtz (2-32) in a hard-fought contest.
Section one ladder: Bulle 24, Spencer 20, Sands 20, Wurtz 12, Peacock 8, Landy 0.
Quirk won six sets in its 36-18 section two victory against Howard, while Aylmore toppled Sheil, 27-14.
Section two ladder: Aylmore 20, Howard 16, Sheil 12, Quirk 8.
Huckstepp overcame Jones to record its second win in a close section three clash, while Johnson and Merritt split sets as the former got over the line, 29-23.
Section three ladder: Merritt 24, Johnson 20, Huckstepp 8, Jones 4.
The next event on the Sportspower junior calendar is on Sunday at Wangaratta.
Players aged 16 and under of all standards are welcome to participate.

Albury grasscourts hosts the next tournament on the North East Veterans schedule on Sunday.
Players 35 years and over are welcome with entries to be phoned through on 0439 716 688.
Registration is from 1pm with play to commence at 1.30pm.
Cost is $20 for tennis and afternoon tea.
