There is a 90 per cent chance of snow showers, most likely on Monday morning.
It comes after a wind peak of 59 km/h in Wodonga at 12am on Sunday and a 91 km/h gust at Falls Creek.
It was 17.3 degrees in Albury at midday on Sunday, more than eight degrees lower than the lowest monthly mean temperature for December and 15 degrees lower than Saturday's maximum.
The record for the lowest daily temperature in December is 14.9 degrees, set in 1993.
