A man is due to face court on Tuesday after threatening a woman and two children in Lavington before attacking their neighbour with a meat cleaver.

The neighbour suffered lacerations to his forearms and head. He was taken to Albury Base Hospital for treatment before being airlifted to Melbourne for surgery.
Police will allege a woman and her two children left a unit off Schaefer Street, Lavington, at about 9pm on Friday after being threatened by a man known to her.
The man allegedly followed the woman and children to the unit next door and continued to make threats.
The 36-year-old allegedly pushed a female neighbour to the ground as she attempted to intervene.
Police will allege in court the man left the unit before returning with a meat cleaver and striking a male neighbour several times.

Neighbours managed to detain the 36-year-old man until police arrived.
The man has been charged with causing wounding or grievous bodily hard to a person with intent to murder, using an offensive weapon with intent to commit an indictable offence.
He was also charged with one count of stalk or intimidate physical etc harm DV, contravening a prohibition/restriction in AVO (Domestic) and assault occasioning actual bodily harm.
The man was refused bail to appear in Albury Local Court today.
