Brown suffered a side strain at representative level against ACT last week and was forced to miss the rest of the week-long carnival.
It followed a stunning 5-25 against the powerful Canberra combination in the first game, including 4-5 in his second spell, only adding to his reputation on the Border as few of the association's guns over the years have had an impact like that at that higher level.
"He's got a slight side strain, so we're hoping he'll be back in early to mid-February and get him right for what will hopefully be finals," Brown's Lavington club coach Daryl Tuffey said.

Brown hasn't bowled in provincial since November 14 after suffering a pectoral muscle injury.
Prior to his injury concerns, the 28-year-old has been an ironman, playing 81 games at provincial level over the previous four years.
