Michael Sonny Peric showed no remorse, police said, had no insight into his offending and had previously refused to co-operate under supervision.
Prosecutor Sergeant Nicole Peacock said Peric told a NSW Community Corrections worker, who interviewed him for a sentence assessment report, that he would return to the 19-year-old victim's home "and break her neck".

He then recanted the threat, but police were firm in their conviction that he posed a genuine threat.
Sergeant Peacock told Albury Local Court magistrate Richard Funston that Peric, who is in custody bail refused, refused to acknowledge he had a significant problem with alcohol.
Rather, he told the report's author that he enjoyed drinking and saw no reason to stop, though might slightly reduce his intake.
Peric repeatedly interrupted, via a video link to Junee jail, with "that's all lies" and "the police prosecutor, she's lying".

This raised the ire of Mr Funston, who warned Peric he faced full-time jail when sentenced on February 10.
"I'm not going to have the police prosecutor spoken to like that," he said.
Peric, 45, pleaded guilty to enter enclosed lands, remain on enclosed lands and intimidation, plus other, unrelated charges
Police were called to the Maryland Way townhouse on October 25. On arrival, the victim was "clearly upset, shaking, biting her fingernails".
She was upstairs about 6pm when she heard a voice downstairs. Peric, standing just inside the front door, called out: "You should lock the door. I could be a rapist or a psycho'. I'm coming up."
She repeatedly demanded he leave, but Peric replied with "why haven't you got the doors locked?" and "are you home alone?".
He told her not to call police as he'd "just been there and been drug-tested", then held up a bottle of "a yellow-coloured liquid".
