North Albury's Jeanette Tuckwell and Shirley Geddes qualified for the senior pairs, and, despite a gallant effort, fell 21-15 to a side from Taren Point.
The Border duo trailed 4-1 after four ends and 8-4 after six, but made an impressive comeback to hit the front 11-9 after the 10th end.
Taren Point finished strongly with just four more ends going the way of North Albury as they ended the Hoppers' run with a 21-15 result.

Commercial's Kaye Habermann and Marion Bruce contested the open pairs and suffered a 23-8 defeat at the hands of Maryann Parcell and Anne Johns from St Johns Park.
It was tough going for the Albury pair as both Parcell and Johns have played for NSW and Johns has been an Australian representative.
Bruce and Habermann opened up a 3-1 lead after two ends, but found themselves 8-3 down after six.
The St Johns Park team raced away to a 15-3 lead on ten were never halted as they went on to win 23-8.
