Lucille Brown has taken on the position of association administrator and will look after operations during business hours and become a key point of contact for member clubs.
She jumped at the chance to apply for the role.
ALSO IN SPORT:
"All the executive members are volunteers and are in full-time jobs and pretty busy, as well as running the association on the side of that," Brown said.
"They just wanted someone who could do the leg work during business hours in terms of contact with councils, clubs, governments, now with the COVID requirements and sponsors.
"I think everyone has had their contacts within the executive they'd go to, but if we can get that to more of a central point and I can distribute the information and be the go-to contact person for the clubs to the executive that would be great."
Ms Brown's children play for Wangaratta in the AWFA competition.
