
Former member for Indi Cathy McGowan will host a national convention for 'community-minded independents' this weekend.
Beginning on Friday afternoon, the convention is promoted as the first of its kind which aims to 'build community knowledge and share practical advice to get more independent, community-minded candidates in Australian politics'.

Ms McGowan along with current member for Indi Helen Haines and former member for Wentworth Kerryn Phelps are keynote speakers at the $55 event which concludes Sunday.
The convention is touted as a networking opportunity and a place where people can share campaign skills.
It will feature panel discussions, workshops and small group discussions.
