Lisa Renee Restall had wanted to be freed from police custody after her arrest on a warrant and over fresh matters.
But Albury Local Court magistrate Richard Funston has decided to instead sentence Restall, having told her he was strongly considering an intensive corrections order.
IN OTHER NEWS:
Restall, 43, had been the last fresh custody case to go before the court after she reported experiencing COVID-19-type symptoms.
Mr Funston told her of his thinking though emphasised this wasn't a given, then stood the matters down until every other case on the day's list had been completed.
He then imposed the 12-month order, which he said was a jail sentence to be served in the community.
RELATED:
Restall pleaded guilty to all charges, including like-matters on the warrant.
Albury detectives were in Wantigong Street, North Albury, on Monday about 3pm when they saw a white Holden Commodore heading east.
They stopped the car in a nearby retirement village and, on seeing her in the back seat, searched Restall's handbag.
Inside was a capped syringe holding 40 millilitres of brown, liquid methamphetamine.
The detectives also found a tablet of suboxone used to treat opioid dependence and suspected stolen property, including a Medicare card, a Victorian firearms licence and two debit cards.
She faced two drug possession and four goods in custody charges over the incident.
